Contractor Issues - Case Study
Mr K in Hampshire contacted Head Squared after a contractor left his garden project in a sub-standard fashion. The contractor was adamant the works were of a high standard. Our client was not a specialist garden contractor and therefore he came to Head Squared for a second opinion.

Having withheld a large proportion of the agreed payment until works were carried out to a standard he was happy with, Mr K contacted us hoping we may be able to help. The contractor was adamant the works were of a high standard and wanted paying. Our client was not a specialist garden contractor himself and he wanted to have a second opinion; he also wanted some feedback on areas where he felt improvements could be made. This was the final option for open communication prior to solicitors being instructed. The only people to win then are the solicitors!
Services Offered
Head Squared Aquatics was happy to make comments, both positive and negative on the garden project. It was imperative that as a company we gave a balanced commentary on the works. The intention was not to rile the situation but to help client and contractor agree some common ground. The report was written with no bias and the name and details of the contractor were withheld from Head Squared at all times.
Findings
The report included some areas where the works closest to the house could have caused issues of rising damp in the future. The information contained within the report has had a beneficial effect. The client and the contractor are now working together to solve the problems. Solicitors have not been contacted (which can only be a bonus for all) and Mr K's dream will now become a reality. We even received a Postcard from Mr K thanking us for helping him through this tricky time.
